Keychain – Head Gasket for Mercedes OM607 1.5 CDI

The Mercedes OM607 is a 1.5-litre diesel engine used by Mercedes-Benz from 2012 in several compact model lines. Technically, it is based on the Renault K9K, but Mercedes adapted the engine for its own vehicle architecture and supporting hardware. With 1,461 cc, four cylinders, eight valves, common-rail direct injection and turbocharging, the OM607 is mainly associated with the A-Class W176, B-Class W246, CLA C117/X117 and GLA X156, as well as the Citan W415. Depending on model, it appeared as the A 160 CDI or d, A 180 CDI/d, B 160 CDI/d, B 180 CDI/d, CLA 180 CDI/d and GLA 180 CDI/d. In the Citan, it covered the 108 CDI, 109 CDI and 111 CDI versions.

The basic architecture remains clearly related to the K9K: 1,461 cc displacement, SOHC cylinder head, two valves per cylinder, timing belt and common-rail injection. Mercedes changed items such as ancillary components, engine mounts and integration with its own transmissions. Turbocharger specification and calibration also vary by output level. Passenger-car versions typically produce 90 or 109 PS, while the Citan was offered with 75, 90 or 110 PS. For precise identification, OM607.951 is an important code alongside the general OM607 designation. Anyone digging deeper into parts catalogues or vehicle data will also encounter the Renault K9K background and related suffixes such as K9K 646 or K9K 856.

Maintenance and used-car discussions involve the normal subjects of a small common-rail diesel: timing belt, injectors, high-pressure fuel system, turbocharger, EGR, DPF and a traceable oil-service history. Exact hardware depends on production year, output and emissions standard. A W176 A 180 d is therefore not identical in every detail to a Citan 108 CDI, even though both belong to the OM607 family. For owners, that distinction is usually more useful than broad statements about the engine, because many technical questions only make sense once the vehicle, power level and complete engine code are known.

The OM607 is mainly relevant to drivers familiar with this generation of compact Mercedes models. The A-Class W176 and CLA C117 combine the small diesel with the brand’s front-wheel-drive compact platform, while the B-Class W246 and GLA X156 use the same engine in different vehicle concepts. The Citan W415 gives it a light-commercial role. Some owners therefore search directly for OM607.951, while others identify the engine through A 180 CDI, CLA 180 d or Citan 109 CDI. For this product, engine code, sales designation and chassis code are all useful identifiers.

Whether it lives on your own keys or as a gift for someone with an A-Class, B-Class, CLA, GLA or Citan, this keychain is deliberately tied to the OM607 and therefore to Mercedes’ version of the 1.5 dCi/K9K base engine. At first glance the shape remains technical and unusual; on second look it can be placed quickly by Mercedes and diesel enthusiasts. Anyone familiar with OM607.951 or a W176 A 180 CDI will understand the reference.

Proudly crafted in Germany, meticulously detailed and finely finished for a refined in-hand feel paired with a premium brushed surface.

*The "rubberized" covers (TPU) are clipped on, not glued. They still hold perfectly and can be removed if you prefer the "bare" look. We can't guarantee they can be reattached afterward. So either leave them on or take them off, but no back and forth :)

The use of brand and product names is for description and identification purposes only. These are not official products of the respective engine manufacturers and we have no affiliation with them.
