BMW M51 Keychain

Introduced in 1991, the M51 marked a milestone as BMW’s first diesel with electronically controlled fuel injection, improving power, efficiency and emissions compared to earlier designs. It bridged the gap between traditional pre-chamber diesels and the upcoming common-rail generation.
The M51 powered models such as the E34 525td/525tds, the E36 325td/325tds, and the E39 525tds. It was the engine that made BMW diesels truly competitive against Mercedes at the time and paved the way for the highly successful M57 common-rail engines.
