BMW M42 / M44 Keychain
This keychain is a faithful miniature of the BMW M42 and M44 head gaskets – BMW’s first mass-produced four-cylinder engines with four valves per cylinder. Introduced in 1989, the M42 featured DOHC technology and represented a major leap forward from the earlier M10 and M40 designs, bringing high-revving performance to BMW’s compact models.
The M42 powered cars such as the E30 318is and the early E36 318is. Its successor, the M44, arrived in 1996 with a slightly larger displacement, improved torque and updates for smoother running, used in the E36 318is and Compact. Both engines became beloved choices among enthusiasts for their rev-happy character and durability.
