Keychain – Head Gasket for Renault K9K 1.5 dCi (2011-2024)
The Renault K9K 1.5 dCi continued into a more developed second phase from 2011 onward (at least regarding the head and therefore head gasket design) and remained an important small diesel across the Renault-Nissan range for many years. This product focuses on the later K9K generation used in models such as the Clio IV and V, Captur, Mégane III and IV, Scénic III and IV, Kangoo II, Kadjar, Talisman and others. The same basic engine also appeared in numerous Dacia and Nissan models, while Mercedes used a closely related version under the OM607 designation. The core specification remained 1,461 cc, four cylinders and common-rail direct injection, while power output, emissions equipment and supporting hardware evolved considerably. Typical versions range from 75 and 90 PS to 110 and later 115 PS in dCi and Blue dCi applications.
Technically, the K9K remained a compact inline-four with an SOHC cylinder head, eight valves, turbocharging and a timing belt. From 2011, efficiency and emissions control became increasingly important. Renault introduced Energy dCi versions with Start & Stop, revised EGR strategies and lower fuel consumption, followed later by Euro 6 and Blue dCi variants with more advanced exhaust treatment. Depending on vehicle and output level, turbocharger type, injection hardware, intercooling and DPF or SCR systems differ. The suffix list therefore becomes extensive: K9K 608, 609, 612, 628, 629, 636, 646, 647, 648, 649, 656, 657, 838, 846, 856 and the later K9K 872, 873 and 874 are typical codes from this period.
Maintenance and buying discussions still involve the familiar diesel subjects: injectors, high-pressure fuel system, turbocharger, EGR, DPF, timing-belt service, oil supply and a traceable service history. Later Blue dCi versions add SCR emissions hardware. The exact specification depends strongly on vehicle and engine code, so a Clio IV dCi 90 is not technically identical to a Kadjar dCi 110 or a later Duster Blue dCi 115. The shared K9K architecture, however, remains easy to identify.
For owners, the engine is often easier to recognise through the vehicle than through the family code itself. Clio IV BH, Captur J5, Mégane III BZ/KZ, Mégane IV B9/K9, Scénic III JZ, Kadjar HA, Kangoo II KW/FW, Dacia Duster, Sandero II, Logan II, Nissan Juke, Qashqai J11 and NV200 are all realistic routes to the K9K. Mercedes A-Class W176, B-Class W246, CLA C117 and Citan W415 also used a closely related K9K-based engine under the OM607 name. That is why model names, chassis codes and the three-digit K9K suffixes are especially useful for this product.
Whether it lives on your own keys or as a gift for someone with a Clio, Captur, Duster, Qashqai or another later 1.5 dCi, this keychain is deliberately tied to the K9K generation from 2011 onward. At first glance the shape is technical and unusual; on second look it can be identified quickly by Renault, Dacia and diesel enthusiasts. Anyone familiar with K9K 612, K9K 646 or K9K 872 will understand the reference immediately.
Proudly crafted in Germany, meticulously detailed and finely finished for a refined in-hand feel paired with a premium brushed surface.
