Keychain – Head Gasket for Suzuki K6A

The Suzuki K6A is a 658 cc three-cylinder engine from Suzuki’s kei-car range, used in many small Japanese models from the mid-1990s into the 2010s. It was offered naturally aspirated and turbocharged, with and without VVT, covering everything from basic everyday kei cars to sportier models such as the Alto Works and Cappuccino. Typical applications include the Alto, Alto Works, Wagon R, Kei, Alto Lapin, MR Wagon, Cervo, Palette, Every, Carry and Jimny. The K6A is especially well known from the EA21R Cappuccino and JB23W Jimny. For owners and mechanics, chassis codes such as HA21S, HA22S, MC21S, HN22S, HE21S and JB23W are almost as relevant as the engine code itself.

Technically, the K6A is a water-cooled inline-three with 658 cc, a DOHC cylinder head and 12 valves. Bore and stroke are 68.0 x 60.4 mm. Depending on version, it was produced naturally aspirated or with turbocharging and intercooling, while later variants also used VVT. Naturally aspirated versions generally range from around 37 to 54 PS, while turbo engines usually sit between 60 PS and the familiar 64 PS kei-class ceiling. In an Alto Works, Kei Works, Wagon R RR, Cappuccino or Jimny, the same basic engine therefore has a very different role from the unit in a regular Alto, Lapin or Carry.

Owners and mechanics mainly encounter the normal maintenance subjects of a small Japanese engine used in many different ways. Oil changes, valve clearances, chain drive, ignition components and cooling all matter, while turbo versions add the turbocharger, intercooler plumbing and boost hoses. A Jimny may have seen off-road or winter use, while a Cappuccino or Alto Works is more likely to have been driven hard or modified. With older Japanese imports, service history often matters more than any single supposed weak point. The K6A is compact and relatively straightforward, but like any small engine with high specific output, it responds clearly to proper maintenance.

For enthusiasts, the K6A is mainly interesting because of the cars built around it. The EA21R Cappuccino combines the small turbo three-cylinder with front engine and rear-wheel drive, while Alto Works models such as HA21S, HB21S and HA22S represent the performance kei-hatch side. The JB23W Jimny uses the K6A in a compact off-roader. Kei Works and Wagon R RR add more enthusiast-focused applications. Mazda and Nissan derivatives such as the AZ-Wagon, Laputa, Carol, Moco and Roox also appeared with K6A power, making engine code, model name and chassis code equally useful search terms.

Whether it lives on your own keys or as a gift for someone with a Jimny, Cappuccino, Alto Works or another K6A-powered Suzuki, this keychain stays focused on the engine itself. At first glance the shape is technical and unusual; on second look, Suzuki and kei-car enthusiasts can place it quickly. It may mean something different to a JB23W owner than to someone with an EA21R or HA22S, but the common link is the K6A behind a wide range of familiar Japanese kei cars, sporting models and light commercial vehicles.

Proudly crafted in Germany, meticulously detailed and finely finished for a refined in-hand feel paired with a premium brushed surface.

*The "rubberized" covers (TPU) are clipped on, not glued. They still hold perfectly and can be removed if you prefer the "bare" look. We can't guarantee they can be reattached afterward. So either leave them on or take them off, but no back and forth :)
