The EA855 2.5 TFSI debuted in 2009 with the Audi TT RS (8J) and later powered the RS3 8P/8V and RS Q3. With 2,480 cc, five cylinders, turbocharging and direct injection, it produced 340–367 hp and revived Audi’s legendary inline-five heritage. Our keychain replicates its gasket design in fine miniature.
It featured a cast-iron block, aluminum head, DOHC valvetrain with 20 valves, high-pressure FSI injection and a KKK-K16 turbo. Its unique five-cylinder sound earned multiple “Engine of the Year” awards and a cult following.
Common topics: high-pressure pumps, ignition coils, turbocharger bearings and oil supply at high rpm. Overall, the EA855 is considered both robust and highly tunable.
