Keychain – Head Gasket for VAG 1.8-2.0 (EA827)
The EA827 family carried VW engines from the late 1970s through the 1990s. With 1.8 to 2.0 liters, SOHC or DOHC layouts and various fueling systems from carburetors to Motronic, it powered Golf II/III GTIs, Passat B3/B4, Audi 80/90 and Seat Toledo. Our keychain reproduces the gasket of this iconic four-cylinder in miniature.
Cast-iron blocks, crossflow heads and belt-driven cams defined the EA827. Legendary versions include the KR/PL 16V in the Golf II GTI 16V and the 9A/ABF 2.0 16V in the Golf III and Seat Ibiza Cupra. These engines became the foundation for countless tuning projects.
Common issues were head gaskets, hydraulic lifters, timing belts, coolant flanges and oil pumps. Yet their robustness made them favorites for both daily drivers and track builds.
In the community, the EA827 represents the spirit of youngtimer GTIs and early VAG tuning culture. From Schrick cams to Weber carb setups or turbo swaps, these motors defined an era of experimentation.
This keychain is a perfect gift for GTI or Audi 80 enthusiasts—or for yourself if KR, PL or ABF engine codes immediately ring a bell when you see the gasket outline.
Proudly crafted in Germany, meticulously detailed and finely finished for a refined in-hand feel paired with a premium brushed surface.
