The VW 2.5 20V naturally aspirated engine (07K) appeared mainly in North America from the mid-2000s. With 2,480 cc, inline-five layout, DOHC 20 valves and 150–170 hp, it powered the Jetta, Rabbit (Golf Mk5), Passat and New Beetle. Our keychain reproduces its gasket in miniature detail.
Derived from Audi’s 20V concept, the 07K evolved into a sturdy inline-five with cast-iron block, aluminum head, sequential injection and modern engine management. It became known for longevity and character.
Common issues include ignition coils, chain tensioners and oil leaks. With good care, many exceed 300,000 km while still sounding fantastic.
Enthusiasts love the 07K for its unique five-cylinder soundtrack and strong tuning potential when turbocharged. In North America it achieved true cult status.
