Mazda B-Series (B6 / B8 / BP) Keychain
Mazda’s B-series engines—B6, B8, and BP—are lightweight, rev-happy four-cylinders with a cult following. From the Eunos Roadster / MX-5 (NA/NB) to the 323 / Familia and Protegé, this family defined an era of approachable performance. Our keychain miniaturizes the head-gasket outline—subtle at first glance, then a clear signal to Miata and 323 insiders.
Across the range you’ll find the 1.6-liter B6 (MX-5 NA B6ZE(RS) with HLAs and a classic timing-belt layout), the 1.8-liter B8 in early Familia models, and the 1.8-liter DOHC BP for bigger lungs and tuning headroom. Miata fans know the BP-ZE, the BP-4W head, and the later NB2 BP-6D with VVT. Away from the roadster, the turbo legends took shape: B6T (1.6 turbo) in 323 GTX/GT and the 1.8 BPT/BPD in the homologation-grade 323 GT-R—names still lighting up swap guides and rally forums.
Mod paths are endless: BP ITBs, 4-2-1 headers, high-lift cams, higher compression, or full turbo conversions for Mazdaspeed-style punch. Standalone ECUs (Megasquirt, Link) are common, as are cold-air routes and larger throttles for crisp NA response. Maintenance lore the community knows by heart: early NA6 “short-nose crank” checks, HLA lifter tick, cam cover and cam/crank seal leaks, CAS O-ring seepage, plus regular timing-belt/water-pump intervals. NB2 owners sometimes chase a chatty VVT sprocket—well documented and fixable.
This piece isn’t mainstream merch. It’s a small collectible that works as a gift for MX-5, 323, and Protegé drivers—and just as well if you’re getting one for yourself. First glance: clean and premium. Second glance: a knowing wink that starts conversations at track days, Cars & Coffee, or late-night garage sessions.
Proudly crafted in Germany, meticulously detailed and finely finished for a refined in-hand feel paired with a premium brushed surface.
